If NYC was your choice for vacation this year, then you have to make sure you tried all the necessary foods the bustling city has to offer. Below you’ll find a list of seven must-visit restaurants that you’ll need to try before you head back home and if you’re already a native New Yorker, you better make sure these places gave already been crossed off your list.

Emily- West Village

You come to NY and the one thing you gotta try is NY pizza. Cooked in a wood fire oven, Emily’s pies are not only cooked to perfection, but they take risks in their toppings and make it work. One of the many must-haves is the Arenstein pie.

DeKalb Market Hall- downtown Brooklyn 

A massive food hall that features over 40 vendors from Katz’s Delicatessen, Bunker, and Guss’ Pickles, there’s sure to be something here for just about any and everyone. The hall also features entertainment in the form of custom show kitchens and a stage for live performances. It’s hard to pick what to eat first, so just be sure to try everything after you get a signature sandwich from Katz.

Salt & Bone Smokehouse– Astoria

Everyone loves a good barbecue place and Salt & Bone doesn’t disappoint. Warm and inviting, meals at this restaurant are sure to be colorful and delicious. Try the ribs because why not get a little messy.

Beso, Staten Island 

An intimate space that specializes in Spanish/Latin cuisines, the reviews for Beso’s appear fairly consistent. Excellent food surrounded by Spanish-styled artwork, Beso’s is a family restaurant with a caring staff to wait on you. Tapas is also recommended.

Out East, East Village 

Seafood. Seafood. Seafood. Out East is all hipster vibes with homey decor all in one. Meals come to life with the “playful touches” the chefs bring to them. Out East transports you from New York City out to the Long Island Coast and you can almost feel the breeze in your hair as you eat. Plan your next corporate event here or throw a surprise birthday party, Out East is able to accommodate up to 250 people easy. Try the East End Plateau to get a taste of the major seafood.

Hudson Garden Grill, Bronx 

Inside the colorful Botanical Garden a real rose sits near it’s center. With breathtaking views on all sides, the restaurant features oak paneled walls and a walnut-topped bar. When you stop by try the Porculet du Lait in the style of Portugal.

P.J. Clarke’s, Upper East Side

Ending with a classic, Clarke’s has become a chain of pubs since its opening in 1884. However, NY’s Clarke’s is the place to be for a taste of originality. Get a feel of classic New York history by coming to P.J.’s and seeing what legends like Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole saw. Must have here would be the bacon cheeseburger.
